The Penta from Shadow Silencers is our purpose built 556/223 product optimized for AR rifle applications and is the most versatile and rugged in its class. The Penta is a 5 baffle system made of our unique parabolic and M-Cup baffles that aids in the barrel harmonics and ballistics that are unique to AR rifle shooting, and is hearing safe out of the box. Made from 7075 billet aluminum completely Milspec 3 hard anodized and 6AI-4V Titanium, the Penta is built to last, and run a minimum of 35% cooler than other like products on the market. At 8.0 inches, 13.8oz (full stack) with an OD of 1.575 inches the Penta is comfortable on many types of AR rifle applications and durable enough for the toughest conditions.
Finishes
Milspec 3 Black Hard Anodized
The Milspec 3 finish on this may well be one of the most important features and deserves a bit more explanation. The aluminum is hard coat anodized (both inside and out), which increases wear and corrosion resistance, increases surface hardness, increases the thermal properties of the aluminum and improves the ability of the metal to retain lubricants. In other words, it changes the surface to this incredibly hard metal without increasing weight. Durable enough for our military. More than durable enough for the rest of us.
